Taline Manassian is an attorney who specializes in litigation and open government matters.
Taline has more than ten years of experience representing clients in pre-litigation disputes, litigation, and appeals. Taline has represented individuals, businesses and governmental bodies as plaintiffs and defendants in state and federal courts. Taline has experience with contract, employment, civil rights, land use, and other issues. She also handles harassment and discrimination claims before the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission.
In addition to her litigation practice, Taline handles privacy concerns and open government issues, including those involving the Texas Public Information Act and the Open Meetings Act. She has represented members of the public and governmental bodies and is available to conduct seminars for governmental bodies, educational organizations or other groups with an interest in open government issues. Her past presentations on open government issues include:
"Open Government 2010," presenter on Public Information Act and Open Meetings Act Scenarios and Question & Answer Session for the Freedom of Information Foundation of Texas in Corpus Christi, April 23, 2010.
“Texas Public Information Act,” presenter on the Public Information Act for the 2008 Southwest Super Conference of the Texas Association of Licensed Investigators, Corpus Christi, Texas, August 8, 2008.

“Responsible Rights: Government in the Sunshine – Open Meetings Under Texas Law,” presenter on the Texas Open Meetings Act for the Freedom of Information Foundation of Texas in Harlingen and Houston, October 17-18, 2007.
Whether the matter involves millions of dollars and thousands of documents or thousands of dollars and tens of documents, Taline focuses on providing efficient and detailed service to her clients. Her approach is to engage heavily with a client early on to understand the client’s issues and activities, all with an eye towards carrying the weight of the legal issues so that her clients can carry on with their businesses and lives. She welcomes her clients to have as much or as little involvement in the day-to-day aspects of their legal issues as the clients desire.
That Taline enjoys and respects others is reflected in the way she treats not just her clients, but also her co-workers, opposing counsel, and court staff. Taline understands that people are not always happy to need an attorney. She strives to make the legal experience as painless as possible for her clients by cultivating cooperative relationships with them and with other members of the legal community.
In addition to being committed to the practice of law, Taline is committed to the place she calls home. Taline serves as a member of the board for the LBJ Future Forum, an organization of the LBJ Library that encourages participation in the library and with the local community. She also serves as a member of the board for Austin Bat Cave, a non-profit organization dedicated to developing the writing skills and creative passions of students ages six to eighteen. She is on the production team for the Mamma Jamma Ride Against Breast Cancer. She is a member of the Writers’ League of Texas and the Austin Film Society, both of which provide resources and entertainment for people with creative interests. She supports the Miracle Foundation, supporting orphans in India, and the Breast Cancer Resource Center, which provides resources and support to women and their families facing a cancer diagnosis. Finally, Taline pours her energy into Toastmasters International as a member and officer of Capital City Toastmasters and Dripping Springs Toastmasters and as the Area J-64 Governor, 2009-2010, because she believes that giving people the confidence to speak changes lives.
